Youth Expressive Arts Therapy Expressive Arts Sessions for youth blends structured directives, client-led play, and expressive arts therapy modalities. Using a bottom-up approach that engages the body, emotions, and mind, children are invited to explore art, music, dance, drama, play, and sandtray as a way to express themselves, build confidence, and strengthen self-esteem. Early sessions are exploratory, allowing children to experiment with different creative methods to discover what resonates most with them. This approach fosters curiosity, emotional connection, and self-discovery, providing a safe and supportive environment to help kids process their feelings and navigate challenges. Stacia also integrates The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) upon request, a research-based listening therapy designed to regulate the nervous system, improve emotional resilience, and enhance social engagement. SSP can be particularly beneficial for children (and adults) who experience anxiety, trauma, or difficulty with emotional regulation. This powerful tool promotes a sense of safety and calm, enhancing the overall therapeutic experience and supporting emotional well-being. This service can be added to individual sessions upon request.
