Hoot Hoot, join Isabel, the fiber artist behind The Felted Acorns, for a hands-on workshop. Needle felting involves rolling up a small amount of wool roving and stabbing it with a special type of barbed needle. The process pulls the wool over itself and gradually "locks" it together, making it possible to create three dimensional sculptures. At this workshop you'll be introduced to the basic techniques involved in felting, and then together we will make a felted owl which could be used as an ornament or decoration. Isabel was introduced to felting as a child attending the Waldorf School of Cape Cod and later rediscovered felting as a therapeutic art form. Today inspired by her environment and her elementary students, Isabel crafts for the love of it!
