Details:
Hoot Hoot, join Isabel, the fiber artist behind The Felted Acorns, for a hands-on workshop. Needle felting involves rolling up a small amount of wool roving and stabbing it with a special type of barbed needle. The process pulls the wool over itself and gradually "locks" it together, making it possible to create three dimensional sculptures. At this workshop you'll be introduced to the basic techniques involved in felting, and then together we will make a felted owl which could be used as an ornament or decoration. Isabel was introduced to felting as a child attending the Waldorf School of Cape Cod and later rediscovered felting as a therapeutic art form. Today inspired by her environment and her elementary students, Isabel crafts for the love of it!

Stacia Boynton is an Expressive Arts Therapist and the owner of Sea to Believe Studio. As a licensed mental health counselor specializing in expressive arts therapy, Stacia brings a wealth of knowledge and a compassionate approach to the workshop.

In honor of this month’s theme at Sea to Believe we welcome The Felted Acorns back for a special evening event. Join The Felted Acorns for a workshop of whimsical felted pufferfish ornaments! We will make these adorable pufferfish out of wool. These ornaments make a fun tree ornament, home decoration, and one of a kind gift. MEET STACIAStacia currently provides expressive arts consulting at her own studio, Sea to Believe, in Humarock, MA. Stacia is passionate about helping kids and community members better connect with themselves through different expressive arts modalities. She has spent her entire adult life and much of her adolescence working to help others, and now applies her degree in Expressive Arts Therapy to empower individuals to connect, create, and regulate using the expressive arts and movement-based modalities.
Stacia received her Bachelor of Science in Family Studies and a minor in Kinesiology from the University of New Hampshire in 2013 and received her Master’s in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University in 2018. |
THE STUDIOBased in Humarock, MA; Sea to Believe is an expressive arts studio exploring emotional wellness with a conscious heart through the lens of the expressive arts, movements, and the ocean sea. A warm and inviting space that provides room for art, movement, musical exploration, sandtray , mindfulness, kids yoga, and more. Furnished with colors and accents scientifically shown to promote relaxation, The Studio dons soft lighting; warm, neutral colors; comfy, soft seating; and salt lamps. Most importantly, the space cultivates an atmosphere of belonging and acceptance, where all may be free to express themselves using their bodies, brains, and breath.
